Prime and add-ons
Prime Video is part of the Amazon Prime subscription, so if you already have Prime for shipping and other benefits, you get streaming at no extra cost. The included catalog has originals and licensed content. Beyond that, you can rent or buy movies and series and subscribe to add-on channels (e.g. HBO, Showtime) inside Prime Video.
The interface can feel crowded with upsells and add-ons, but the core experience is solid. Originals have grown in quality and scope. If you're a Prime member, Prime Video is a natural default; if not, compare the catalog and price to Netflix and others.
When to choose Prime Video
